Welcome to our 1st & 2nd Class webpage.
We we will keep you updated on our class news.Â
We hope you enjoy looking at some of our wonderful work.
Class Teacher :Â Ms. Laura Sexton
We had a lot of fun imagining what it might be like to live in our very own snow globe, and bringing it to life with our photographs. It was cold in there!
We have also had two extra classmates in 1st & 2nd. Our elf Winky and his friend Robin joined us at the beginning of December. They watch us as we do our work and play, and we love coming in to the classroom each morning to see where they've got to. We designed our own Elf's Legs as part of our art last week. If you look closely you might spot Winky and Robin in the photographs too!
We had a very special guest at school this morning. Santa Claus popped in for a visit! He said we were all brilliant and he can't wait to travel to all of our houses on Christmas Eve. We are very excited!
Happy Christmas everyone!
St. Brigid's Day!
We celebrated St. Brigid's Day today. We learned about how kind and caring St. Brigid was, and her plan to build a church. We then designed St. Brigid's Cloaks of our own. Didn't the boys and girls do a great job?!
We are excited for St. Patrick's Day in 1st and 2nd Class. We did some lovely rainbow and gold art, and wrote about what we would do if we found our very own pot of gold. We had some wonderful and very imaginative ideas!

Springtime Planting
The sun was shining for our time in the garden yesterday. The children enjoyed planting onions and potatoes. We are looking forward to watching them grow!Â
Pupils from 2nd Class are busy a the moment. We are preparing to celebrate our First Holy Communion Day. It will be a special day for us and our families and we are very excited!
First Holy Communion
Celebrations for 2nd Class - Congratulations!
We had a special cake delivery following our First Holy Communion, it was really yummy!
We had a great day on our trip to Fota Adventure Park. We practised good teamwork in building shelters, we enjoyed some toasty marshmallows and we got very muddy in the obstacle course! Teacher was very proud of how brave and excellent we all were. Here's some photos of our day!
We have spent the last number of weeks practising our swimming skills in Mallow Swimming Pool. We have made great progress in the water and it's been really good fun!
1st and 2nd Class Yogis
We began our Active Week by rolling out our mats on the grass and practising some some yoga. We took some time to concentrate on our deep belly breaths and were excellent at some of the yoga poses. We continued our mindful morning when we came back into the classroom with some quiet colouring and listening to soft music. It was a wonderful start to our day. Thank you Claudia!
