Scoil Eoin Naofa a grant in 2021 to implement initiatives aimed at addressing the digital divide and to support our learners at risk of educational disadvantage. This initiative formed part of the Irish National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) — a project under the Recovery and Resilience Facility, funded by the European Union through NextGenerationEU.
This funding was used to enhance digital access and learning opportunities for all pupils, in line with Department of Education Circular 0060/2021. Specifically, the grant was used to:
Purchase digital devices to by used pupils who did not have access to suitable technology at home, ensuring equal participation in digital learning.
Upgrade classroom digital infrastructure, including interactive whiteboards and high-speed broadband connections, to support technology-enhanced teaching and learning.
Develop digital content and literacy supports, including the integration of approved literacy software such as Spellings for Me
Provide staff professional development in the effective use of digital tools for literacy, assessment, and inclusion, aligning with the school’s Digital Learning Plan and the Digital Strategy for Schools to 2027.
Support pupils with additional learning needs through the purchase of assistive technologies apps to promote inclusion and independent learning.
Through this targeted investment, Scoil Eoin Naofa continues to strengthen digital inclusion.
