Thank you to all the grandparents who visited our school on this very special day!
We enjoyed singing and playing our tin whistles for you.
Thank you Mr O' Mahony and 6th class for taking the time to teach us how to code! We are leaning so much and having great fun at the same time.
We had a fantastic Day in school celebrating with Lucy who is doing a 5km Walk'n'Roll for Crann.
Crann is a charity who provide life-long solutions for people and families living with neuro-physical disabilities.
First and Second Class completed 1km around the schol gorunds cheered on by the children and staff!

In the afternoon we were visited by Edel from the Irish Wheelchair Association, her personal assistant Josie and her assistance dog Nala.
Edel spoke to us about overcoming obstacles she had faced in her life and inspired us to work towards overcoming barriers!

We collected flowers, petals, stones, sticks and used them to create mandalas.Â
We did a fun activity in the sun where we talked about things we could see, hear, touch, smell and taste.
We had a great day in the Maradyke Arena for our school tour. We got to do lots of activities including monkey football, inflatable obstacles, lego, hockey and badminton.
We enjoyed the bus journey too. We went on a double decker bus!
During Seachtain na Gaeilge we put lots of Irish words and sentences we know into practice!
We learned a song with Irish and English words called "Oró sé do Bheatha Bhaile".
We learned new traditional Irish Dances.
We had a great day in school celebrating St. Patricks Day!Â
We all dressed in green, white and gold!
We had lots of fun at the ceilĂ in the school yard.
Wednesday was a really special day for 2nd class. We had our First Confession with Fr. Leader in the church.
We are looking forward to our First Holy Communion now!
World Book Day
Fr Leader visited our school on Wednesday and distributed blessed ashes!Â
We then discussed our Lenten Promises and what we will turn towards and turn away from during lent.
We turned our promises into a paper chain to display in our Sacred Space.
We had great fun cooking and decorating our own pancakes.Â
They were delicious!
Thank you to Maeve from Mallow Rugby Club who came to school to teach us some rugby skills.
We had great fun!
We worked together to write a how to guide on making Pitta Bread Pizzas.
Of course we had to test our procedures!
He sang Happy Birthday to Jack and Ms O' Sullivan and he gave us all an early Christmas present.
4 days to Christmas. Woohoo!
We have been working on report writing this month!
We each carried out research about an animal on the and wrote a report about it.
We read our reports to the class!
Rhea won a €50 Smyths Voucher and a pack for the her class with fire safety activity books, pencils and pens!

We have been watching the show during rainy break times in our classroom!
We love trying the challenges. Our favourite is "back against the wall"
We were so excited to have the Finnegan Family from Ballyclough visit us in school.
They came 3rd place on the show this year.
We had lots of fun experimenting with jellies, M&M's, milk, food colouring and washing up-liquid.
You could try these experiments at home.
This week learned how important it is to show kindness.
We watched a video of Buzz and discussed how he might be feeling.
Then we discussed how we could show kindness!

Thank you Claudia for a spectacular and spooky yoga lesson.
Charlie brought his soccer trophy to school today to show his friends and teachers.
In our Read at Home book we read "Marshmallow Hats".Â
It explained how to make a yummy treat from marshmallows and chocolate.
We got a lovely surprise from our classmate who made them for all of us!
We have been working really hard on spelling strategies.Â
