Junior & Senior Infants 21/22

Welcome to our new blog.  We are a very happy group who love to play together.

We are learning to share, take turns and make new friends.  We love learning through play and enjoy chatting, developing new language and vocabulary and participating in role-play during Aistear. We are creative and learn how to express opinions and ideas. This helps us to make sense of the world around us.

‘PLAY IS THE WORK THAT CHILDREN DO’.

Aistear, which is the frame-work for early childhood education translates to the word ‘Journey’.  We are beginning a very important journey of life-long learning.  Active learning involves children learning by doing things. They use their senses to explore and work with the objects and materials around them and they interact enthusiastically with the adults and other children that they meet. Through these experiences, children develop the dispositions, skills, knowledge, and understanding, attitudes, and values that will help them to grow as confident and competent learners.

Our School Tour to Fota Wildlife Park  25/05/2022

We had a brilliant fun day out today.  Some of us travelled in a bus for the first time which was very exciting.  We saw lots of animals in their wild habitats. We saw a baby joey in his mammy Wallabie's pouch.  We did a bug hunt in the forest and found lots of different species which we loved!  We saw the lions being fed and watched them waking up from their sleep.  We had a picnic and got to play in the playground.  We were all very tired on the bus home.
